The worst way to deal with this is to take the offending child to the victim and have them lie to them. These children with little or no empathy are not sorry for hurting someone. They must make restitution with their time and energy to the person they wounded. They can do their chores for them, fold their laundry, clean up after a project, etc. If it is a child outside the family they could bake cookies (not eating even one cookie or any dough), give them one of their own toys, etc. For an adult outside the family that gets abused the parent can park their car at the victims home, listen to music or balance their check book while the aggressor rakes the yard, pulls weeks or sweeps the sidewalk. This child is clearly not ready to be in an unsupervised situation again until healing is well on its way.
